Childhood trauma linked to higher rates of mental health problems and obesity, says Stanford/Packard psychiatrist

Here is a link to an interesting article on a topic which is dear to my heart - childhood trauma. This is another study by my boss at Stanford exploring the link between trauma and problems in children. The problems include behavioral, mental issues and obesity. PTSD is often misdiagnosed in children as ADHD.

“Contrary to some people’s belief, these children don’t get used to trauma. These events remain stressful and impact children’s physiology.”
“If trauma goes untreated, it’s very costly for the individuals involved and for society in general.”
